DIFX ANNOUNCES LAUNCH DATE OF ITS ACADEMY, PLUS TRAINING LINK WITH FT KNOWLEDGE

Dubai, UAE, 17 March 2005: The DIFX Academy, the training arm of the Dubai International Financial Exchange (DIFX), will hold its inaugural course on May 23rd and 24th.

The two-day course to be held in Dubai will be on ‘Capital Markets: Principles, Products and Players’. The Academy, which plans to become a leading provider of financial education, set the date after signing an agreement this week with FT Knowledge, a major London-based global training company.

Pauline Olson, the head of the Academy, said: “This will be the first of many courses that will establish the DIFX Academy at the forefront of financial education in the Middle East and beyond. The course is aimed at finance professionals in various sectors who wish to improve their knowledge of the capital markets. It is also suitable for members of the public who have an interest in capital markets as a potential investor, or to enhance their skills for future employment.”

The course will be classroom-based and delivered by an expert FT Knowledge trainer, drawing on the company’s acknowledged training skills and adapted carefully to suit the needs of participants in the DIFX region. There will also be an eLearning element to complement the instructor-led training.

Academy courses in coming months will cover a variety of financial markets subjects such as equities, equity analysis, fixed income and derivatives. In addition, the Academy will deliver specialist education in Islamic finance and corporate governance. Specific DIFX-related courses will also be offered. Courses can be custom designed for organisations, and delivered globally.

Courses will be designed to serve the learning needs of both organisations and individuals. They will be aimed at all levels, from beginner to advanced, enabling experts to continue their professional development and those new to the finance industry to master the fundamentals.

Charles Warburton, Director at FT Knowledge said "We are delighted to be partnering with the DIFX Academy to establish new standards of training excellence for the region's growing financial services sector. A particular theme of our collaboration is the promotion of best practice and the provision of localised, practical training for DIFX members, issuers and investors.

The Academy's commitment to innovative, high quality learning has driven us to build what I believe will be a regional benchmark for financial training. The learning experience which combines eLearning, self-study, classroom workshops and assessment for a single registration fee is unique."
